Why competition matters
Competition taxidermy is judged blind, feather by feather, under a magnifying glass, by experienced working taxidermists. Anatomy, symmetry, feather work, iridescence, finish, and overall artistic impression are all scored. It's the closest thing our industry has to peer-reviewed proof of skill.
